Wow - Ya'll are Busy Bee Voters!!

Wow! Last Sunday night while I was making the voting poll for the Crafter's Challenge, I told my husband I would be so happy if 50 people voted this week. I'm thrilled to have more than 250 votes logged so far!! There's still time to vote if you haven't yet - pop on over here until Friday at 11:59pm CST to choose your favorite summer accessory.

What have you guys been up to this week?

Jaime and I decided on a whim to take our kiddos for a quick beach trip to Galveston. I had never been before and it was lots of fun! We left Monday night and got back this evening. The kids had a blast. It was so much fun to watch them splash in the water and run up and down the shore line. I think the ocean is so good for the soul. Okay, and a decent tan isn't a bad byproduct either!

 

Sara Paige did great too! I put up a tent for her and the sound of the ocean lulled her to sleep in less than five minutes. Too bad you can't can that ocean and bring it home, huh?

There was still a lot of damage from last September's Hurricane Ike. Look at this hotel we saw on the main beach. If you peek at the top left corner, you can see a big hole!! And the driveway collapsed with the storm.

Now it's time to shake the sand out of my beach towels and start some laundry. Back to reality!

how long did you stay in galveston? there were decent places to stay close to the beach? everyone has told me to skip galveston this year 'cause it's simply "not there anymore".

Hi Holly. We stayed at Hotel Galvez right on the beach. It was great. We only stayed one night. There wasn't much "to do" but we weren't looking for a ton of stuff to do. Just a clean beach with warm water - and we got that :) HTH.
